Avalon School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Therefore, it is essential that you provide all relevant information requested in order to meet this commitment. The role includes engaging in regulated activity with children and will include safeguarding responsibilities as per the job description and personal specification. References will be obtained prior to interview and the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and pre-appointment checks. The DBS check will reveal both spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings, and any other information held by local police that’s considered relevant to the role. Any information that this “protected” under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, 2013 and 2020 will not appear on a DBS certificate. Proof of the right to work in the UK will be required at the time of interview.
