Guidance if a child is displaying symptoms of Coronavirus:

Further guidance has been issued to schools this week with regards to what to do if a child is displaying symptoms of Coronavirus. Please note the guidance with regards to the self -isolation period below:

If anyone in school becomes unwell with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature, or has a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia),  they must be sent home and be advised to follow covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance, this is the guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

This sets out that they must:

• self-isolate for at least 10 days

• arrange to have a  test to see if they have coronavirus (COVID-19)

Parents should ensure that they keep school fully informed if any child is displaying symptoms of Coronavirus and they must not attend school. Following a confirmed test result, parents should immediately notify school of the outcome.
