Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

What a fantastic day, celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The whole school celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee this week.  Children came to school dressed in red, white and blue and were treated to a wonderful 'Street Party' style lunch provided by our fantastic Catering Team.

The children and staff had lots of fun after lunch enjoying an afternoon of 1950's style playground games including skipping, hopscotch and marbles to name but a few.

We were delighted to share our celebrations with the residents of 'The Old Garden' residential home too. We joined together singing the National Anthem, as well as a special Corgi song from our Pre-Schoolers.

Very generously Apex Action sponsored a “Design a Crown” competition donating the Grand Draw Prize of tickets for a family of four to Legoland, Windsor Resort!

For the competition children had to design and make a crown to wear during the Royal Parade held on the day.   Designs could be futuristic or traditional – the more creative the better!  Every child who made a crown was given a ‘Royal Ticket’ to enter the Grand Prize Draw.

The afternoon culminated in a Royal Parade with the winner of the crown making competition taking to our Avalon throne.

In addition, to commemorate this truly special day, all the children received a Platinum Jubilee Pin Badge.

The whole school had a thoroughly wonderful day.
