Avalon hosts Chess tournament V The Firs School

The afternoon tournament comprised of 10 minute matches between the two teams.  Vandana (Avalon) and Arnav (The Firs) reached the final round, with Arnav being declared the winner on points. Both teams played very well, with some highly intense and closely fought matches.  Many children were only relatively new to playing Chess, so it was a great introduction to the game and an exciting experience for them too. We are looking forward to having a return tournament with The Firs, very soon. Well done to all the players today!
